According to Mihalic 1979, nabaut is an adverb meaning 'aimlessly, here and there, everywhere' etc.
What if 'nabaut' occurs after an adjective or noun phrase? Example, ol lapun nabaut they are old and what not. 'What not' in English means other things like that or things of a similar kind.
So here's 'nabaut' in a nutshell;
1) nabaut an adverb meaning aimlessly, here and there, everywhere;
Ol pait nabaut. They were fighting everywhere.
2) nabaut an intensifer meaning what not, things of a similar kind, other various things that might be mentioned;
Ol lapun nabaut. (derogatory) They are old plus other various things that might be mentioned.
What do you think?
